Somewhere near the main stage at Gage Park, a QR code is taped up where you might not notice it. There's another one by the food trucks. One at the baptism area. Six more are scattered through Vendor Row. Twelve in all — and every one of them is a light waiting to be found.
It's called the Light Hunt, it's completely free, and it runs all weekend at Jesus Festival Hamilton, September 4–5, 2026.
How the Light Hunt works
- Find a code. Twelve Jesus Festival QR codes are hidden around Gage Park, near the places people gather — the stage, the big lawn, the kids zone, the food trucks, the baptism area, the info point, and all through the vendor market.
- Scan it with your camera. No app to install, nothing to sign up for. The lamp lights up on your phone instantly.
- Collect the Scripture it carries. Every light hands you a verse and a word of encouragement — twelve small moments with God scattered across a park.
- Earn badges you can actually share. First Light, Three Flames, Market Blessing, Light Bearer and more — nine in total, each one a real image your phone can post anywhere.
Every light you find also pours Light Points into Revive the City — the festival-wide game where the whole crowd's prayers, missions and discoveries add up to one shared story of a city coming alive. Find all twelve and you become a Light Bearer, with 2,500 points poured in and every badge unlocked.
It works with no signal — on purpose
Thousands of phones on one patch of grass means the network will crawl at exactly the moment you scan. The hunt is built for that: your lamps save on your phone the moment you scan, and your points reach the city as soon as you get a bar back. Nothing is lost, nobody waits on a spinner in a field.

Six of the twelve lights sit in Vendor Row, and that's not an accident. Every booth at Jesus Festival is somebody's livelihood and somebody's offering — makers, ministries, and Kingdom businesses who show up because they believe in what happens in this park. The hunt walks you right past them.

- Order doesn't matter. Scanning any code starts your hunt. Station five first? That's your first light.
